- MORE ABOUT STEPHANIE -

What are your areas of experience?
I have experience working with diverse populations, spanning from children ages 5 years old to adults 50 years old. I have exposure to clients with medical or other developmental/intellectual needs. I enjoy working with the entire family system and have comfortability in holding space for family sessions when appropriate. My experiences providing mental health therapy have all been held within community mental health or other health care and school settings. I am flexible, adaptable in difficult situations, and focus on the relationship, boundaries, and safety within the therapy setting for all. I have provided individual therapy, family therapy, and crisis intervention services.

What are your clinical interests?
I am capable of working with a range of mental health symptoms and diagnoses and have primary interest in working with clients who may have trauma or ruptures that have impacted their attachment style, interpersonal experiences, and self-worth. I focus on building relational resilience with clients and offering a nurturing space to meet the client where they are at. I have personal experience in working to heal wounds created from relational trauma and believe there is hope in experiencing the world as a safer place to be.

How would you describe your therapeutic approach?
While therapy can offer many positive outcomes, my primary goal is for the client to leave services having learned about themselves. My approach involves increasing introspection and self-autonomy in order to increase the client's likelihood to take ownership in areas they can influence and change. I am comfortable holding space for folks as they explore through verbal or non-verbal processing, the deepest and darkest parts of themselves or their life. I recognize this can be a very emotional and painful experience that requires ongoing boundaries and communication within the therapeutic relationship. I value the importance of informed consent and working at the pace of the client's readiness. I also offer gender affirming therapy.

Are there any specialized trainings or treatment models that you frequently incorporate?
I am trauma informed and utilize a biopsychosocial lens when working with individuals and their families. I also encompass spirituality and while never required, I invite others to explore their spiritual well-being as a part of their whole. I am trained in TF-CBT, EMDR, Theraplay, and utilize IFS treatment modalities. I focus on harm reduction fundamentals when working with clients who have increased risk factors. I value the importance of my own clinical supervision as an ongoing part of working with individuals. This allows me to recognize my own inner lens and providing me with clinical and ethical feedback as I continue to meet with clients. The equity and appropriate treatment of clients is essential and if services are not an appropriate fit, it's important that I refer clients to the appropriate care for their need.

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy spending time outdoors to ground and feel connected. My family is my safe haven, and I enjoy spending time with people close to my heart. Art and creativity have been an emblem I attribute to my own post traumatic growth and weave in throughout the therapeutic space. I love birds and hope to one day get some falconry exposure!
