What are your clinical interests?
I'm passionate about Public Health Education, particularly around mental health awareness and stigma reduction. For the past six years, I’ve participated in the annual NAMIWalks Greater Mississippi Valley event supporting NAMI's vital programs and services. Whether representing previous organizations or now proudly walking with Transitions Mental Health, I’ve found this community event to be a powerful reminder that mental health is for everyone. I've served as co-captain for the last two years, and witnessing our community come together in solidarity is truly priceless.
I also have a strong interest in Career Coaching, Job Development and Case Management. With so many incredible resources here in the QCA, I’m passionate about connecting individuals to meaningful opportunities that support stability and growth.
How would you describe your therapeutic approach?
As someone working in the field, I tailor my approach by meeting each client where they are, both literally and figuratively. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable and respected, while also maintaining a high standard of professionalism. I believe observation is one of our most powerful tools for learning. That’s why I model the behaviors I coach, whether it's navigating workplace or home conflict, relationship building, engaging with employers, or preparing for interviews. My goal is to equip participants with real world strategies and the confidence to pursue opportunities that align with their goals.
Are there any specialized trainings or treatment models that you frequently incorporate?
I have previously completed a 60-hour Psychiatric Rehabilitation Approach Course through Boston University. Although non-clinical, I learned invaluable insight into the depths, complexities and nuances of recovery oriented services.
Transitions- March 2022- Through IPS Employment Center, I completed the IPS Supported Employment for IPS Practitioners.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy yoga, hiking, kayaking, crafting, journaling, and my love for both cooking and eating. Quality time with my teenage son is something I treasure, whether we’re adventuring around the Quad Cities, taking day trips, or traveling when we can. My passion for social work carries into my personal life as well; I attend community rallies and events that promote awareness and positive change on issues that affect us all.
I live in one of Rock Island’s charming historic neighborhoods, Broadway, an active 19th-century district and serve as Secretary for the Historic District Association. Our community is full of creative, and action-oriented neighbors who are passionate about preservation and connection. In addition to educating others about the importance of historic preservation, we host a variety of community events throughout the year, including wine walks, beer crawls, neighborhood cleanups, trivia nights, block parties, ice cream socials, old house workshops, the Mother’s Day Tour of Homes, and our signature event, The Great Unveilings.
