How would you describe your therapeutic approach?
At the heart of my therapeutic philosophy lies a profound understanding that we are all interconnected. I often reflect on a powerful mantra: "Our service to others is the rent we pay to be on this Earth. We are all just walking each other home." This belief shapes my approach to therapy, as I view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative journey. I'm not just a guide; I walk alongside my clients, helping them navigate their personal paths with compassion and understanding. In addition to my focus on grief, I am also passionate about intersectional feminist therapy, which champions the idea that personal struggles are often rooted in broader societal issues.
I also understand the importance of psychoeducation in the therapeutic process. I believe that knowledge is a powerful tool for healing, and I work to equip my clients with the resources they need to better understand their emotions and behaviors. Through psychoeducation, I demystify mental health concepts, making them accessible and relatable. I foster a collaborative atmosphere where clients are partners in their healing process. I value open communication and encourage feedback, ensuring that each person feels comfortable and respected. I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet the specific needs of each client, whether they are navigating anxiety, depression, grief or self-esteem issues. My versatility allows me to connect with a diverse clientele.
Are there any specialized trainings or treatment models that you frequently incorporate?
Modalities come and go, but therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. I adapt my approach to meet each person's unique needs. I believe in the healing power of humor and whimsy, and this helps create a space of a co-mutual and collective approach to therapy. I believe that therapy works best when we address both immediate symptoms and deeper patterns, creating change that lasts.
