BRITTNEY BYRNES, MS, LCPC, LPHA
Clinical Therapist
- MORE ABOUT BRITTNEY -
What are your areas of experience?
I have experience in community mental health, counseling and advocacy for survivors of interpersonal violence.
What are your clinical interests?
I enjoy working with adult individuals from diverse backgrounds, supporting them through challenges related to ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, grief, life transitions, gender identity (gender affirming therapy) and recovery from trauma.
How would you describe your therapeutic approach?
I take a compassionate, person-centered approach to therapy, creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences without judgment. I believe that clients are the experts in their own lives and I take a trauma-informed approach to collaborate with each client to build insight, resilience, and tools for long-term well-being. Having worked in community-based settings, I understand how mental health is shaped by personal history, social context, and systemic challenges. This perspective grounds my work in cultural humility, ensuring care is responsive to each client's unique identity and lived experience.
Are there any specialized trainings or treatment models that you frequently incorporate?
I frequently incorporate strategies from evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and EMDR.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy spending time with my two cats, two dogs and going on adventures with my husband.
